Traffic Impacts
Beginning on Monday, Oct.31, motorists will encounter guard rail installation work at I-25 and Happy Canyon Road in Douglas County. This work is anticipated to last for 15 days, weather permitting. Traffic impacts during this time will include:

      • Working hours will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
      • Closures will take place for three days at each ramp. Crews anticipate starting work at the northbound I-25 off-ramp for the first three days, moving to the northbound I-25 on-ramp the following three days. Work will then transition to the on and off-ramps on the southbound I-25 side. Detour routes will change depending on the type of ramp closure.
      • For the northbound I-25 off-ramp at Happy Canyon Road, cars will be detoured to Castle Pines Parkway, to southbound I-25 back toward Happy Canyon Road.
      • For the southbound I-25 off-ramp at Happy Canyon Road, cars will be rerouted to Castle Rock Parkway, to northbound I-25 back to Happy Canyon Road.
      • During the northbound and southbound I-25 on-ramp closures from Happy Canyon Road, traffic will be detoured around Happy Canyon Road to US 85, to Castle Rock Parkway to the I-25 on-ramps.
      • During the last three days of work, crews will be installing guardrails on the Happy Canyon bridge over I-25. There will be one lane open at a time with flaggers for this segment of work.
      • Motorists are encouraged to account for 10 to 15 minutes of extra travel time while the closures are in place. Ramps will re-open outside of working hours.
