Statewide Stay At Home Order

Governor Jared Polis issued a mandatory statewide Stay At Home Order that began Thursday, March 26 at 6 a.m., and will continue through April 11.

On March 25 at 8 a.m., the Tri-County Health Department issued a county-level order encouraging the communities from Adams, Arapahoe, and Douglas Counties to stay home.  On March 26, after the Governor issued a statewide Stay At Home Order around, the Tri-County Health Department released a statement explaining why it decided to rescind its order and adopt the State Order.

What does this mean?

Under the executive order, people must stay home, and only leave for essential needs such as "critical work", needs related to their health and safety, or for the health and safety of  family or household members effective at 8 a.m. on March 26, 2020 until April 11, 2020.

There are a few exceptions to this order and guidance on what  you can and cannot do.

WHEN CAN I LEAVE MY HOUSE:

  • To seek emergency medical care,
  • For critical work,
  • To buy food and essential household necessities for themselves and their family or household members,
  • To care for a family member, a vulnerable person, or pet.

DO NOT:

  • Leave your house to gather with friends, family, neighbors,
  • Play at a playground, park, pool, sport court, skatepark,
  • Travel for leisure,
  • Be in close contact with someone (who is not in
    the same household)

WHAT IS OPEN:

  • Essential / Critical businesses,
  • Hospitals,
  • Grocery & Liquor Stores,
  • Restaurants (with pick-up ONLY),
  • Pharmacies,
  • Utility Companies,
  • Cleaning Services,
  • Banks,
  • Trails (keep 6-feet distance between people).

WHAT IS CLOSED:

  • Parks, skateparks, outdoor fitness court, pools, paygrounds,
  • Nonessential business.
