"Slash" is debris, from nature, such as tree limbs, prunings, and pine needles. If not removed, slash can increase potential fire hazards on your property. Removing slash, and creating defensible space around your home, is the first line of defense against wildfires.
To help you mitigate wildfire danger on your property, the City of Castle Pines is partnering with South Metro Fire Rescue to host a free slash collection event. Bring any tree limbs, prunings, pine needles, or other yard debris to Elk Ridge Park for free disposal.
All vegetation is allowed. Please limit diameter of trunks or limbs to less than 16 inches. No lumber is allowed and please ensure there is no metal (nails, screws, etc.) or rocks in the materials you drop off.
Saturday, May 14 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
