The agenda for the May 28 City Council Meeting is now available. The regular meeting will begin at 6:30 p.m.

If you would like to provide public comment about the Public Hearing for Resolution 24-39, please note that comments must be provided in person because of the quasi-judicial nature of the public hearing. Public comment on this topic must also be given during the public hearing portion of the meeting and may not be given during the general public comment period.

Meeting highlights from the May 14 City Council meeting include:

• Approving a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan and committing to the goal of maintaining zero roadway fatalities and working toward the goal of zero serious injuries on the Castle Pines transportation network by January 1, 2030.

Roaming Gnomes Scavenger Hunt 
May 27 - August 1
All around Castle Pines

This free and fun City-wide scavenger hunt starts May 27 and goes until August 1. Once the hunt begins, get ready to find Willow and all his Gnome friends around Castle Pines!

Players who successfully complete all the challenges on the app will win a free kid's drink by showing their "Challenges Complete" badge to the staff at Ziggi's Coffee during business hours. Register to participate.

Family Disc Golf Day 
Sunday, June 2, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Pronghorn Park and Disc Golf Course (7707 Disc Park Street)

Are you new to disc golf or looking to improve your technique? Bring the whole family for a day of fun and lessons to improve your game! This free event is open to all Castle Pines residents. Participants will get tips on improving their game and free disc golf discs to take home! The event runs from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Pronghorn Park and Disc Golf Course. Come and go as your schedule allows. Register before spots fill up.

Food Truck Frenzy 
Saturday, June 8, from 4-8 p.m.
Coyote Ridge Park (7485 Serena Drive)

Bring your appetite and join us for the City's Food Truck Frenzy event at Coyote Ridge Park! The party starts Saturday, June 8, at 4 p.m. In addition to a delicious variety of food trucks, there will be craft beer, wine, live music, and kids activities.

Summer Splash Water Day 
Wednesday, June 26, from 5-7 p.m.
Elk Ridge Park (7005 Mira Vista Lane)

Need a mid-week summer break? Come out and participate in the Summer Splash Water Day! Get ready to slide and conquer challenges on our free water slides and obstacle courses. Dive into the fun as you zip down exhilarating slides and navigate thrilling obstacles. A live DJ and Kona Ice will be available when you need a break from the fun. A signed waiver must be completed to participate.

Participants under 18 must be supervised by a parent or designated guardian during the entirety of the event. Children cannot be dropped off.

Summer Concert Series

Party in the Park

Join us for an annual resident favorite: Party in the Park! This year's party will be held on August 10 from 5-9 p.m. at Elk Ridge Park. Gather with your neighbors for an evening of live music, food, drinks, kids activities, vendor booths, and more!

Are you ready for a tranquil and serene day at Rueter-Hess Reservoir? Plan your day of paddle boarding, fishing, and hiking – all summer activities open Friday, April 26. New this year is windsurfing.

The reservoir will be open for non-motorized water activities and fishing from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Mondays starting Friday, April 26, into late October, depending on the weather. The entrance to the Reservoir is off Hess Road in Parker, about 4.75 miles east of Interstate 25.

Due to parking and fishing capacity limitations, reservations are required.

Parking Details
To park at the reservoir, you will need a parking pass. The cost of a day-long parking pass is $10. Reserve your day now.

Reservations must be made online. Please save your confirmation email to show at the gate. (A screenshot or printed copy are recommended, as cell service is spotty at the reservoir.) Online reservations are now open through June – and additional dates will be added throughout the summer.

Fishing Details
To maintain the vitality of the fish, a limited number of anglers are allowed to fish each day. There is no cost to fish at the reservoir, but because space is limited, reservations are required for all. Anglers older than 16 must have a state fishing license.

Anglers will also need a parking pass, which is $10 for the day, in addition to the free fishing registration. Make your fishing reservation and get your parking pass online.

If you plan to walk or bike into the park for fishing, a parking pass is not required, but a fishing registration is still required.

All fishing is catch-and-release. For details on additional rules and regulations, visit Douglas County's fishing webpage.

Additional Details:

Kayaks, canoes, paddle boards, windsurfing boards, and inflatable standup paddle boards are the only watercrafts allowed. All watercrafts will be inspected onsite for invasive species before entering the water.

• Life jackets are required for all and must be worn at all times.
• Windsurfing is being offered this year as a pilot program.
• Plans are in the works to modernize the shoreline. As that plan comes to fruition, please expect the shoreline to be muddy in places.
• Parking is a 5- to 10-minute walk from the shoreline. Following an inspection of watercraft, you will be able to drop off gear near the shoreline and return to the parking lot to park your car. Please be prepared to inflate your watercraft, at least partially, before getting to the water.
• Dogs are allowed in some areas, but not the water nor shoreline.
• No glass bottles or alcohol are allowed.

Mayor Tracy Engerman is hosting a "Coffee Klatch with Tracy" next Thursday, April 18, from 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. at Ziggi's Coffee. Swing by for a quick chat, to ask questions, to learn more about upcoming City activities, or just say "hello."

"Coffee klatch" originates from the German word "kaffeeklatsch" and refers to a gathering of friends over a cup of coffee.
