As winter storms increase in frequency, here are a few reminders about the City's snowplow operations. Plows begin with arterial roadways (Castle Pines Parkway, Monarch Boulevard, Lagae Road, etc.) before moving to collector roadways (Daniels Gate Road, Buffalo Trail, Yorkshire Drive, etc.). For bigger storms, crews then move to local streets in residential neighborhoods. Neighborhood streets may not be plowed if it is a smaller storm and the snow melts quickly. Additionally, some roads are privately maintained by HOAs.
The City also has a snow plow tracking map where you can view the progress of snow plows during each storm. For more information about snow plowing, visit the City's Snow & Ice Removal webpage.
