Reservoir recreational plans and progress
Rueter-Hess Reservoir is nestled in the sandstone-rimmed bluffs and Gambel Oak valleys of north eastern Douglas County. Abundant in history and rugged landscape, the reservoir resides on the property owned by Parker Water and Sanitation District and is an invaluable source of water. It is currently in the planning stages of becoming a recreational hub for the community.
The City of Castle Pines is working with the Rueter-Hess Recreation Authority on plans to bring more outdoor recreational opportunities to the reservoir while preserving the peaceful environment and protecting the water source.
The Master Plan
The master plan includes hiking and biking trails, fishing, camping and non-motorized boating including kayaks, canoes, etc. You can view the plans, including maps and timelines, here.
