South Havana Street Realignment

To continue supporting the growth on the east side of Castle Pines, North Canyons Development Company realigned the former South Havana Street several hundred feet to the east. The new alignment of the roadway provides several benefits to the traveling public, including:

  • Moving the roadway to align with the roadway network of the future mixed-use area, south of Castle Pines Parkway and east of I-25.
  • Reducing the total number of intersections along Castle Pines Parkway and improving traffic efficiency.
  • Adding a traffic signal at the newly aligned intersection to improve safety and access.

North Canyons Development Company paid for and constructed the project. Douglas County also contributed $500,000. The City reviewed permits and inspected the infrastructure before the realigned roadway was accepted as a City-owned asset.

Schedule

  • Project Start Date: May 2025
  • New Havana Alignment Opens: July 15, 2026
  • Traffic Signal Installation: Fall 2026
