The Castle Pines City Council held a meeting on November 11. Meeting highlights include:
- Approving an intergovernmental agreement with the Urban Drainage and Flood Control District for the design and construction of drainage and flood control improvements for Happy Canyon Creek at Monarch Boulevard.
- Approving the mutual termination of the City Operations Mill Levy Pledge Agreement with The Canyons Metropolitan District No. 4.
- Approving a resolution in support of Colorado Gives Day in Douglas County on December 9, 2025.
- A study session about the 2026 proposed budget.
- During the meeting, City Council continued the first readings of the following ordinances to the December 9, 2025 City Council meeting to allow for more time to gather information about the petition and potential impacts to the City.
- Ordinance 25-12, An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Castle Pines, Colorado, Annexing Certain Territory to the City Known as the Crowsnest Annexation on First Reading.
- Ordinance 25-13, An Ordinance of the City Council of the City of Castle Pines, Colorado, Approving an Annexation and Development Agreement for the Crowsnest Annexation on First Reading.
Next steps for the Crowsnest annexation petition process include:
- December 9 Council Meeting and Public Hearing: City Council considers the following.
- A resolution making findings of fact and conclusions as to the eligibility of the land to be annexed to the City.
- An ordinance to approve the annexation (first reading).
- An ordinance to approve an annexation agreement (first reading).
- Early 2026: City Council considers the following.
- An ordinance to approve the annexation (second reading).
- An ordinance to approve an annexation agreement (second reading).
