Bicycle safety month is a great time to remind everyone that safety is a shared responsibility. Whether you’re on two wheels or four, your choices on the road matter.
Bicyclists:
- Stay alert and avoid using headphones
- Always wear a properly fitted helmet
- Ride in the same direction as traffic
- Yield to pedestrians and obey all traffic signals
Drivers:
- Follow the speed limit, especially in school zones and neighborhoods
- Check twice for cyclists before turning
- Give cyclists at least 3 feet of space when passing
- Never drive distracted or impaired
