Happy Canyon Road and Lagae Road Roundabout Monument

In September 2025, the City Council approved a design concept and design contract for a gateway monument and landscaping improvements at the roundabout at Happy Canyon Road and Lagae Road. City staff is currently working with a design firm, DTJ Design, Inc., to finalize the design of the gateway feature based on the approved concept (see the photos below for concept renderings). After the design is finalized, City staff will present a construction contract to the City Council for approval. Following approval, construction on the gateway monument will begin, currently anticipated to be in 2026. View the City's Gateway and Wayfinding Plan for more information on the project.

The City began construction of the new gateway monument feature in March 2025. The new monument is on the east side of I-25, on westbound Castle Pines Parkway, near Canyon Forge Drive. The project is anticipated to be complete by fall 2025 and is not expected to impact traffic.
