Gateway Project

Project Background

The Gateway project is one of the City Council's priorities and focuses on creating welcoming entrances to the community for residents and visitors at the City's major thoroughfares. The Gateway project standardizes the City's signage and establishes a cohesive Castle Pines brand. View the City's Gateway and Wayfinding Plan for more information on the project. The overview map below shows the completed and planned Gateway features around the community.

Happy Canyon Road and Lagae Road Roundabout Monument

In September 2025, the City Council approved a design concept and design contract for a gateway monument and landscaping improvements at the roundabout at Happy Canyon Road and Lagae Road. City staff is currently working with a design firm, DTJ Design, Inc., to finalize the gateway feature design based on the approved concept (see the photos below for concept renderings). After the design is finalized, City staff will present a construction contract to the City Council for approval. Following approval, construction of the gateway monument will begin, currently anticipated for 2026.
