The Castle Pines City Council held a meeting on August 25. Meeting highlights include:
- Approving a construction contract with Nicholas Construction Inc. for the Happy Canyon Road and Lagae Road roundabout monument.
- Approving amendments to Section 27 Site Improvement Plan of the City of Castle Pines Zoning Ordinance.
- Approving the adoption of the City of Castle Pines Annexation Policy.
- Approving the adoption of the 2026 Economic Development Strategic Plan.
- Approving the ballot titles and placing two citizen-initiated amendments to the City of Castle Pines Home Rule Charter on the ballot for the coordinated election to be held on November 3, 2026.
- Approving a resolution expressing opposition to a citizen-initiated ballot measure, which would amend the City Chart to require voter approval for certain annexations in excess of 20 acres.
- During the study session, the Council decided not to proceed with adopting the Colorado Wildfire Resiliency Code.
- An update from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
