  • An update from the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
  • Approving The Canyons Preliminary Plan No. 3.
  • Approving a temporary moratorium on the approval of land use applications and business license applications for body art services, car washes, junk yards, pawnshops, payday loan services, vehicle service uses, and vape shops in all zoning districts of the city.
  • Approving a change order with Elite Surface Infrastructure for street reconstruction and pedestrian improvements on Monarch Boulevard.
  • Appointing Judge Vincent White as the City's Municipal Judge and approving a professional services agreement.

About the Parks & Recreation Advisory Board

The City of Castle Pines Parks and Recreation Advisory Board makes recommendations to the City Council on issues related to parks and recreation, including legislative policies, the City’s Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Plan, as well as policies for the acquisition, development, and improvement of recreation facilities. The Board consists of five residents from various backgrounds who are appointed by the City Council. The Board meets on the third Thursday of every month at 4:30 p.m. in the Castle Pines Library, 360 Village Square Lane in Castle Pines, or virtually.

Planning Commission hosting virtual work session as it discusses commercial land uses

Join the Castle Pines Planning Commission for a virtual meeting this Thursday, March 13, at 5:30 p.m. as they continue discussions for the Unified Land Development Code (ULDC) planning process.

During the meeting, the Planning Commission will discuss possible commercial uses for existing and future commercial areas. In addition to the Commission's discussion, they'll seek input from residents on the various uses and how they can best fit into our community.

ULDC Planning Process Background

At the conclusion of this process, the City will have a modernized and tailored land development code that meets the needs of the City and its residents through alignment with the City’s Comprehensive plan. This will include everything from organization and formatting to common terminology and cross-referencing. The final updated ULDC will combine the current Zoning Code and the Subdivision Regulations into one unified code.

The process is led by the City Council, the Planning Commission, and City staff. Several opportunities will be available for the public, including residents, property owners, business owners, developers, and builders, to provide input.

At the conclusion of this process, the updated ULDC will:

  • Support the Castle Pines Comprehensive Plan
  • Improve the compatibility of current development with existing and future development
  • Provide greater certainty and predictability for property owners, developers, builders, and residents

Join your neighbors for the annual Spring Cleanup Day

The City of Castle Pines is once again partnering with residents for the annual Spring Cleanup Day. As the community grows, it’s more important than ever to keep the beautiful parks and open space that make Castle Pines special free of trash and other debris. This year’s cleanup day will take place on Saturday, April 5, from 10:30 a.m. to noon, weather permitting.

You can register to participate at one of four sites throughout the city (Elk Ridge Park, Coyote Ridge Park, Retreat Park, or The Green (The Canyons)). Gloves and trash bags will be available at each location.

After picking up your materials, you are free to pick up trash, weeds, and other debris at any park or public area that you know may need a little beautification.

A trash drop-off site will be available in the parking lot southeast of Castle Pines Parkway and Lagae Road intersection near Ziggi's Coffee (see map below) until 12:30 p.m., where you can also pick up free coffee.

  • Approving a professional services agreement with Hord Coplan Macht for the design of Phase 1 improvements to Coyote Ridge Park.
  • Approving an ordinance to issue new liquor licenses administratively.
  • Approving a First Amendment to the Declaration of Easements, Covenants, Conditions, and Restrictions between the City of Castle Pines and CP Commercial, LLC.
  • Approval of new appointments to the combined Planning Commission/Board of Adjustment.
  • Resolution 25-10 was opened and continued to the March 25, 2025 City Council meeting.
