Monarch Boulevard Pedestrian Safety Improvements

To continue improving safety for all travelers in the community (walkers, bicyclists, drivers, etc.), the City will install additional safety measures on southern Monarch Boulevard between Temby Way and Lagae Road. The project will begin in July 2025 and is scheduled to be completed in August 2025.

Improvements will include:

  • Six new sets of rectangular rapid flashing beacons to help pedestrians safely cross at crosswalks
  • New school zone speed limit flashers to reduce traffic speeds to 20 miles per hour near American Academy during school dropoff and pickup hours
  • Restriping lane markings and crosswalks to improve visibility

Project Timeline:

  • Project start: July 2025
  • Estimated project completion: August 2025
