Review initial concepts and provide input on potential future parks and recreation amenities

As Castle Pines continues to grow, so does the need for great parks and recreation spaces around the community. In June 2023, the City began the process of developing two park master plans. This process will develop a master plan for future amenities, including:

  • An update and expansion of Coyote Ridge Park, including the land acquired at the southwestern portion of the park that was formerly owned by the Douglas County School District.
  • A new park on the east side of the city, known as Soaring Hawk Park.

This planning process is intended to incorporate the needs of the entire community so that everyone can play a part in the design of our local parks. Resident feedback was gathered in August 2023 via two open houses, a booth at Party in the Park, and an online survey.

It's now time to refine that feedback. An in-person meeting was held on March 5. If you were unable to attend, you can complete an online survey where you can view a variety of initial concepts and provide input about amenity options.

The survey will remain open until March 20. After the survey closes, the City's park design consultant will review the results from the in-person meeting and online survey and partner with the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board to refine the concepts. A final master plan for each park will be presented to City Council for approval later this year.
