2025 Community Survey

The City of Castle Pines conducted its 2025 Community Survey to better understand residents' thoughts and opinions of City services, programs, priorities, and quality of life aspects. The survey was open between, Sept. 23 and Oct. 12, 2025. Residents were invited to participate in the survey via text message and email invitations. The survey link was also available on the homepage of the City's website.

The survey was completed by 854 residents. This resulted in a margin of error of +/- 3.24% at the 95% confidence interval. Key themes and takeaways included:

  • Quality of Life and Pride in the City are Extremely High: Residents overwhelmingly feel Castle Pines is an excellent place to live. 94% rate it excellent/good as a place to live, 91% feel safe with very little crime, 88% say it’s an excellent/good place to raise a family, 85% say they have pride living in Castle Pines.
  • Growth Since the 2022 Community Survey in Quality-of-Life Measurements:  Compared to the 2022 survey, ratings improved significantly across the board. The three areas where there is still room for improvement are mostly centered on business/retail/restaurant options.
  • Budget Priorities: When ranking budget priorities, the clear top three are: Public safety (police/fire/EMS), parks/trails/open space, and street/roadway maintenance.
  • Parks and Rec Amenities:There is a desire for expanded trail and bike/pedestrian connectivity, especially across I-25, as well as more options for pickleball/tennis courts, sports fields, splash pads, and playgrounds.
  • City Communication and Engagement Have Also Improved: Residents believe the City is more transparent and does a better job communicating than three years ago, while expressing a desire for more proactive communication for construction projects and development activity. From 2022 to 2025, scores improved in key areas, including:
    • City notifying residents: 69% → 75%
    • Mayor/Council communicating effectively: 46% → 58%
    • City being open & transparent: 41% → 57%
  • Top Concerns for Residents: Among the 26% of respondents who feel that the City is on the wrong track, the most common reasons center on too much residential development without enough supporting commercial amenities, loss of open space and small-town feel, and frustration with types of new commercial development and vacant commercial spaces.

These results will be used to refine City Council priorities and City staff activities. If you have questions about the survey results, please email communications@castlepinesco.gov.
