Subdivision Code

The term subdivision generally means the division or separation of a parcel of land into two or more parcels, lots, blocks, tracts, or sites. Colorado State Statute gives municipalities the authority to regulate the subdivision of land. The Subdivision Ordinance outlines the requirements for subdividing land in the City of Castle Pines, ensures that subdivided land is harmoniously planned in relation to existing development patterns, and ensures that adequate public infrastructure such as schools, parks, utilities, and street improvements are implemented with new development.
