  • Approving an extension to a contract with Schmidt Construction Company for pavement maintenance and street improvement services.
  • Approving a change order for a contract with Ulteig Engineers, Inc. for on-call engineering services.
  • Approving a professional services agreement with Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. for on-call land development review, engineering services, and construction inspection services.
  • Denying a site improvement plan application for a McDonald's Drive-Thru.

If you would like to provide public comment about the Public Hearing for Resolution 24-39, please note that comments must be provided in person because of the quasi-judicial nature of the public hearing. Public comment on this topic must also be given during the public hearing portion of the meeting and may not be given during the general public comment period.

May 14 City Council Wrap-Up

  • Approving a Comprehensive Safety Action Plan and committing to the goal of maintaining zero roadway fatalities and working toward the goal of zero serious injuries on the Castle Pines transportation network by January 1, 2030.

About the Planning Commission and Board of Adjustment

The City of Castle Pines Planning Commission deliberates and makes recommendations to the City Council on land-use applications, proposed long-range policy planning documents, and zoning regulations. The Commission consists of seven residents from various backgrounds who are appointed by the City Council. The Commission meets on the fourth Thursday of every month at 6 p.m. in the Douglas County Library, 360 Village Square Lane in Castle Pines.

The City of Castle Pines Board of Adjustment holds public hearings on variance requests and considers appeals to interpretations made by City staff. The Board of Adjustment is comprised of the same members as the Planning Commission and meets on the same meeting days, as needed.

About the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board

The City of Castle Pines Parks and Recreation Advisory Board makes recommendations to the City Council on different parks and recreation programs, parks and recreation legislative policies, updating the City’s Parks and Recreation Comprehensive Plan, as well as policies for the acquisition, development, and improvement of recreation, park, and play facilities. The Board consists of five residents from various backgrounds who are appointed by the City Council. The Board meets on the third Thursday of every month at 5:30 p.m. in the Douglas County Library, 360 Village Square Lane in Castle Pines, or virtually.

Roaming Gnomes Scavenger Hunt 
May 27 - August 1
All around Castle Pines

This free and fun City-wide scavenger hunt starts May 27 and goes until August 1. Once the hunt begins, get ready to find Willow and all his Gnome friends around Castle Pines!

Players who successfully complete all the challenges on the app will win a free kid's drink by showing their "Challenges Complete" badge to the staff at Ziggi's Coffee during business hours. Register to participate.

Family Disc Golf Day 
Sunday, June 2, from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
Pronghorn Park and Disc Golf Course (7707 Disc Park Street)

Are you new to disc golf or looking to improve your technique? Bring the whole family for a day of fun and lessons to improve your game! This free event is open to all Castle Pines residents. Participants will get tips on improving their game and free disc golf discs to take home! The event runs from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at Pronghorn Park and Disc Golf Course. Come and go as your schedule allows. Register before spots fill up.

Food Truck Frenzy 
Saturday, June 8, from 4-8 p.m.
Coyote Ridge Park (7485 Serena Drive)

Bring your appetite and join us for the City's Food Truck Frenzy event at Coyote Ridge Park! The party starts Saturday, June 8, at 4 p.m. In addition to a delicious variety of food trucks, there will be craft beer, wine, live music, and kids activities.

Summer Splash Water Day 
Wednesday, June 26, from 5-7 p.m.
Elk Ridge Park (7005 Mira Vista Lane)

Need a mid-week summer break? Come out and participate in the Summer Splash Water Day! Get ready to slide and conquer challenges on our free water slides and obstacle courses. Dive into the fun as you zip down exhilarating slides and navigate thrilling obstacles. A live DJ and Kona Ice will be available when you need a break from the fun. A signed waiver must be completed to participate.

Participants under 18 must be supervised by a parent or designated guardian during the entirety of the event. Children cannot be dropped off.

Summer Concert Series
