November 3 City Council Meeting Wrap-Up

November 4, 2025 at 9:47 am

The Castle Pines City Council held a meeting on November 3. Meeting highlights include:

  • Approving a resolution that found the Crowsnest annexation petition in substantial compliance with state law.

Next steps for the Crowsnest annexation petition process include:

  • November 11 Council Meeting: City Council considers an ordinance to approve the proposed annexation and annexation agreement on first reading. A first reading is the initial review by the Council of the proposal. This step introduces the ordinance so that both the Council and community have time to review it before a later public hearing and a vote by the Council. The December 9 public hearing includes an opportunity for public comment on this item.
  • December 9 Council Meeting and Public Hearing: City Council considers the following:
    • A resolution making findings of fact and conclusions as to the eligibility of the land to be annexed to the City.
    • An ordinance to approve the annexation (second reading).
    • An ordinance to approve an annexation agreement (second reading).

The timeline above is subject to change and is dependent on the City Council's approval or denial of each step.
